At Clarke Memorial, small children learn in the baby pool and progress to the 50-meter poolc community pool, as well as getting the opportunity to learn how to tread water and dive in the diving well. In the summers, children can challenge themselves by running through two giant pool inflatables. On the other hand, Larkey Swim Center has one big pool that has a shallow area, lap swimming, and a diving area that is roped off during swim lessons. Larkey Swim Center was recently remodeled and touts an amazing water park, called the “Splash Pad” for children to play in before or after lessons.

Once children learn how to swim with the Walnut Creek Aquatics Program, they can pursue a real swim team. If they fall in love with speed swimming they can join the Walnut Creek Aquabears, and if they fall in love with synchronized swimming they can join the Walnut Creek Aquanuts.
